Saint Barnabas strives to live in Christ's presence and to
bring his presence to the world.
Here
at Saint Barnabas, we strive to live in the light of
Christ, and this means several things. We listen to the
Scriptures to hear his word. We look to the saints through
the ages for examples for life. We turn to one another for
the touch of his Spirit. We turn to the world to offer
ourselves for its life as he did. Are we perfect at these
things? No, but together we're learning and growing up into
Christ. We believe that pleases him and blesses us.
Saint
Barnabas strives to embrace the past without rejecting the
present.
Our worship and prayers date back to the first centuries of
Christianity, and our
values and practices
are rooted in the teachings of the gospels and the early
church. Having said that, we express the beauty and history
of the ancient church in ways that modern people will find
familiar. It is our hope that our life of worship will look
much like Christ's incarnation...the beauty of eternity
captured in a moment of time.
